Caribbean American Day Festival in Brooklyn. ( Labour Day Bachannal)

I went to the West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn and I always I have a good time , but this year the City/Cops shut everything down at 4pm...
it was done no more Music. I tried going to the other side of the street and the Cops had the people caged in and they were telling us to go down the block and  come up the next block just to get to the other side I thought that was so stupid. I've been going on Eastern Parkway since I was 4yrs old and i have never seen anything like this until now I was so disappointed, however i feel like the City is trying to stop the Caribbean American Day Parade altogether. I can understand the Cops are on the Parkway to Protect us from Wild behavior and Crime but imagine when the parade is over the cops are coming over to you and telling you go inside or go home, I had to tell a cop don't tell me to go home you're not my parents I will leave when I am ready. In Trinidad no cop ain't telling you to go inside or go home unless its a state of emergency , but in this country they call America they want to keep us caged in like animals. But I will continue to go to the parade year after year cause I am Trini to the Bone !!!!

  1. U got that right! In trini, no cop could tell you go inside. Trini could be on storm watch and we out doors until the rains start. Glad you spoke up to that cop. Hope u enjoyed it - up until 4pm that is!! Saran
